Ope, hey dere, John!

Meet John, our latest hire, who just joined our development team in Shanghai.

Full stack developer by day, alfafa farming expert by night, John has recently joined us at Wiredcraft. Back in his hometown of Wisconsin, his family owns an agriculture technology company which works to increase hay productivity. So while he has a deep understanding of code, it’s nothing compared to his alfafa abilities.

With a background like that, it’s not surprising that getting away from modern life and civilization and spending a weekend on a mountain is how he chooses to reset himself.

In a past life, he was a long distance runner with one of the best mile times in the state - running 80-90 miles a week in the summer to prepare for Autumn cross-country races. Nowadays, he prefers making ‘weirdo’ music (in his own words!), and collecting nerdy music gear.

His advice to young developers is to just do it - as Jake The Dog once said, “Dude, suckin’ at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.” His first experience with web development was that exact scenario: creating a “really, really crappy website” for a friend. Peeking into the void of possibilities and creativity that programming and web development offered, he hasn’t looked back since and even hopes create his own successful startup one day!
