Hey, Echo

Meet Echo, our latest hire, who just joined our development team.

Hi!

My name is Echo, and I am very happy to currently find myself as part of the Wiredcraft team.

I’m from Henan. I speak Mandarin and English. I live in Shenzhen.

Before joining Wiredcraft as a front-end developer, I worked at Tencent. Before that, I worked as a Web developer for about 3 years in Toronto.

I love to convert the pixel art to code, the work involves both design and logic inputs.

It’s hard to pick the project I’m the most proud of. I guess most of the production apps. I love the process of taking the feedback from real users and improving along the way.

1. What are the three things you like about Wiredcraft? Or what attracted you to apply here?

Work-life Balance, remote culture, diversity.

2. What’s the most adventurous experience you have had?

I love volunteering and went for a week-long childcare program in Ho-chi-Minh city a couple of years ago.

Starting a day feeding/bathing/playing with toddlers, ending a day with teaching the older kids in the orphanage.

I’ve never played with so many kids (nearly 60-70) in my whole life before, and also experienced that 4-5 toddlers were trying to climb on my body while I am taking my break.

3. What hobbies do you have?

Snowboarding, I love it although not really good at it.

And Legos.

4. If there’s one thing you recommend everyone in the world to do, what would it be?

Adopt pets not purchasing it.

I adopted a bichon-poodle mix while I was in college in Canada.

We flew back to China together in 2017, and she has been living with my mom since then.

She is the most adorable creature we’ve ever had! (travelling with pets is lots easier than you think, I’m happy to give any advices it you need to import/export your pets)

5. What is the one thing you’ll hope you’ll do in your lifetime?

Be a Lego Designer or be a product tester for Lego.

6. What’s the most underestimated talent you have?

I am pretty good at latte art, learned the shapes heart, leaf or tulip in half a day.
