Hi, Ariel
Meet Ariel, our latest hire, who just joined our project management team in Shanghai.
Hi! I’m Ariel. I’m glad to join the Wiredcraft team as a project manager.
I’m originally from China but grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I can speak English, Mandarin and veryyyyy rusty Cantonese.
Before joining Wiredcraft, I worked at Deloitte in the Shanghai office.
Now being able to work with digital products and tech as a Digital Project Manager is super exciting for me. I’m also looking forward to growing my tech skill set in a digital role.
1. What are the three things you like about Wiredcraft? Or what attracted you to apply here?
I think the most attractive thing about WCL is the company culture - in particular, the strong emphasis on doing things that actually matter really spoke to me.
I was also very impressed (and continue to be) with WCL’s high calibre projects and the opportunity to be able to work with top tier clients.
Plus, it’s always a great thing when your colleagues are talented yet incredibly down to earth and approachable.
2. What’s the most adventurous experience you have had?
Road trippin’ around in Iceland in a Rav4 in a snowstorm.
On this same trip, we also tried to chase the Northern Lights and ended up in a ditch because the roads were so narrow. We also tried to dive between divergent tectonic plates (called the Silfra Fissure if anyone is interested) in subzero temperature water.
I’m surprised I made it out of Iceland alive.
3. What hobbies do you have?
I love chilling with my dogs, trying out new foods, training at my muay thai gym and making candles (holler at me if anyone wants any specific scented candle made).
4. If there’s one thing you recommend everyone in the world to do, what would it be?
Take a selfie with the Quokkas (the happiest animals on Earth)! They’re too cute to be true.
5. What is the one thing you’ll hope you’ll do in your lifetime?
Be semi fluent in Japanese as I want to backpack across Japan at some point and maybe live that digital nomad life over there.
6. What’s the most underestimated talent you have?
This is a tough one because I can’t really think of one… Probably my eyebrow dancing skills? It comes in handy when I need to babysit a nephew/niece/cousin etc.
